1.1 Freshwater pearls color and shape
There are no many different colors of freshwater pearls previously in the market. With the developent of technology, we have a multitude of colors now. Of course, freshwater pearl color is determined by the oyster itself and the growing environment. The most prevailing natural colors are white, pink and lavender. On average, the white freshwater pearls are still by far the most popular. The other two colors are edging their way to the jewelry market. The shapes of freshwater pearls are also varied, like round, flat round, oval and drop of water. Generally, the rounder of the pearls, the more expensive.
1.2 Freshwater pearls luster and size
The luster of a pearl means how well the pearl can reflect the light. The more light reflected and the more clearer the image, the better the luster of a pearl, the more expensive of a pearl. Admittedly, the luster of freshwater pearls are different from those seawater pearls because of many factors.
We also have a large variety of pearl sizes, whicn also effects the value. Generally, under the similar other value factors, the larger the pearl is, the more valueable it is. Now it is often seen pearls with size of 6-8mm. But for those pearls sized greater than 9mm, the value would increase dramatically.
